Private Knife making class

During this hands-on workshop, you'll create a unique knife from 1084 high carbon tool steel, designed according to your personal vision. Rest assured, all the essential tools and equipment will be supplied for your crafting experience.

  • Carbon steel knife care

Wash it by hand with mild soap and water, dry it immediately and thoroughly, and store it in a dry place. Avoid dishwashers and acidic foods, which can cause rust. Applying a light coat of food-safe mineral oil, especially before storage, will further prevent corrosion.

    Daily care

Hand wash only: Never put carbon steel knives in the dishwasher, as the heat and chemicals can damage the blade and handle.

Wash and dry immediately: Wash the knife after each use.

  • What to wear

Wear cotton or natural fiber clothes , it's advisable to have pants that cover the top of the boot to stop any hot things falling into your boot, no nylon please. Boots if you have them, no nylon/polyester shoes, a hat if you like (it does stop a lot of ash in the hair). Bring safety glasses and respirator (if you have them, if not I can supply) Lunch and water bottle. There are soft drinks/water available for sale

Look forward to teaching you blacksmithing
